Quite Possibly One of the Top Ten Cutest Videos You Will EVER See

I took this video on Tuesday, February 19th, 2013.  I was getting ready to get Henry in the bath earlier than usual because we were going to our Music Together class later that evening.  The night before as we were finishing up nursing before bed Henry was saying: "Dadadadada", which he has been saying for a while now.  I told him that Daddy was downstairs and pointed to myself saying:  "mama".  He looked right at me and said:  "Mama".  My heart melted.  I think that moment was probably one of the BEST moments of being a parent so far.
So the next evening as Henry was getting ready to take a bath he was again talking a lot about Dada.  I was trying to get him to say Mama again, which didn't really happen, but the result is a very cute video of Henry!

Celebrating all the love in our lives

Valentine's Day has never been my favorite holiday.  I used to think it was not much more than a commercial endeavor for all the greeting card companies.  I have always liked the sentiment of Valentine's day, but felt that it got lost in all the hype.  Ever since LJ and I started dating (and got married) my opinion of Valentine's day has changed.  Now I find it to be a special day to celebrate the people you love and all the blessings you have.  LJ and I have never done anything crazy or over-the-top for Valentine's day, but we've always done something to let each other know how much we love and care for each other.  We usually go out to dinner and exchange cards.  We take the time to do the little things for each other.  It's hard to believe that last year we were anxiously awaiting the arrival of Henry!
This year we went out to a lovely dinner that we appreciated SO much more than we ever have, simply  because it's not something that happens as much as it used to before Henry came into our lives!
This Valentine's day my heart was literally bursting with love.  With love for LJ, love for Henry, love for our families, and for our home.  We have so many blessings to be thankful for.  Every night before I go to bed I am overwhelmed by all the love I feel on a daily basis for my two leading men.  Its a wonderful feeling to have so much LOVE to celebrate!

My heart beats for you little man.  I love how he is hugging me.  =)

Valentine's date night with the hubby!

Yum! Kate's on State!

I thought the pink tights were fitting for Valentine's Day.
Its fun to have an occasion to get dressed up for .

The beautiful roses from LJ are still in bloom almost a week later!

Dinnertime antics

Henry has become a very picky eater the past few weeks. All he seems to want to eat is yogurt and green smoothie (blueberries, banana, kale, and avocado blended together with water). I'm hoping this is just a phase and that soon he will be up to trying some more new foods. In the meantime I've found that Henry really enjoys exploring and playing with his food, and even though he makes a HUGE mess, he's more apt to eat better and try different foods when he's putting his hands in it. I think the fact that he is distracted by how much fun he's having helps and I'm proud that he is exerting his independence by wanting to do it himself!

Yum!

Look mama, I'm feeding myself!

"So big!"

Visit to St Paul

Last weekend we visited our dear friends Maggie and Pat and Marie and Greg in St Paul. Both Maggie and Marie welcomed new babies this December, Adelaide and Owen; born only 6 days apart!
Maggie, Marie, and I all lived together in the house we lovingly refer to as 68 Cleveland for three years as college students. We shared many memories and many adventures together. It's really cool to now get to share the adventure of motherhood with them too!

All  the 68 Cleveland babies!  L-R:  Owen (7 weeks), Adelaide (6 weeks), Henry (10 months), Milo (2 years)

Little dudes:  Owen and Henry

Henry was fascinated by little Miss Adelaide and her bouncy chair!

Video Purge 2.0

I have been slacking at updating the blog regularly so here is a collection of adorable Henry videos to make up for it!  Some are old, some are new; all feature my favorite little man!

Henry making an interesting discovery in the bathroom.  This discovery has since been one of his favorite things to do.  ;)

My Montessori baby deep in concentration working with his top and object permanence box at one of his shelves.

We just had our stairs carpeted on Monday.  Henry was very excited about the new carpet and texture of the stairs!

Crawling up the stairs is a new favorite activity!
