What's Henry been up to this winter you ask? You know, a little of this, a little of that... =)
Singing some songs with Dad on Christmas Eve...
Making some phone calls with Uncle Pete on Christmas...
Washing some chairs on a super cold day (Jan 6th - the day it was -30 degrees) ...
Checking his friend's diapers for poop ... the usual.

Happy New Year!
| Snowy Christmas Day 12.25.13 |
2014 has gotten off to a very COLD start, but on days when it is above 20 degrees I'm taking full advantage of the "nice" weather by being outside as much as we can. I'm hoping things will start warming up soon (but not holding my breath, as it is winter in WI). In the meantime are finding lots of fun warmer (ie: indoor) things to do in this cold, while making sure to get out and ski or play in the snow when we can!
I am excited that 2014 is here and hope that we have joyful adventures ahead of us in the coming year. It's such a gift to get a new year to start fresh, re-visit old plans, and look forward to the future. I'm really looking forward to what 2014 has in store for us.
I'm loving working part-time at Root Down Yoga Studio as the Yoga Sprouts (children's classes) program coordinator, and I'm teaching many of the kids yoga classes there. Hopefully this year I can grow in my yoga practice and my teaching and do my 200 hour yoga teacher training in the summer!
Henry will be turning two in March, which just amazes me how quickly these past two years have FLOWN by. It is such a joy to see him growing up and learning and doing so many new things, but it is also a bit bittersweet because my little baby is growing up! I try to cherish every moment that I can with him.
I'm hoping 2014 will bring us some adventures and fun, but mostly I'm hoping that 2014 will be filled with lots of LOVE. =)
Happy New Year to you and yours!
Love,
Em, LJ, and Henry

The Search for a Christmas Tree
This year we went to the Domes (LJ's parent's) for Thanksgiving! On the way home we drove the scenic back-country way and stopped at a little ma and pa tree farm to cut down our Christmas tree. Our tree is kind of a Charlie Brown tree (ie: has some bare spots and is not very symmetrical) but it's very fresh and the process of going out and cutting it down ourselves was really fun! My parents met us at the tree farm to help search for the perfect Christmas tree and Henry loved exploring the forest.
A little update on our tree: As we were decorating our tree it fell down a few times. LJ got it super secure in the stand, but the day before our "Fancy Christmas" party I decided to try to turn the tree so there wasn't a bare spot in the front. When I "turned" the tree it got awkward in the stand and was leaning to one side. When LJ tried to fix it, it fell down again. We got it secure and then the next day, just hours before our party it fell down again without anyone touching it; breaking a few ornaments. LJ went out to buy a new tree stand, but the store was sold out! Being the smarty pants that he is he bought some wood and cut it up into small pieces to secure the tree to the stand. It was restored and beautiful for the party AND made it through Christmas and into the New Year. =)

Summer Recap - Part 4 - Door County - July 2013
Door County - July 21-28th, 2013
The last week in July we went to Egg Harbor in Door County, WI for a week of fun, adventure, and family vacation. My parents rented a great house right on the water and we stayed there with them and my brother Pete, and his girlfriend, Molly. We had a great trip, and I was amazed at how much easier this year's trip was then when we went to Door County last year, when Henry was only 4 months old! This year we had some beautiful days, but also some chilly days - especially for July! It was beautiful though, and the best sunsets are always in Door County! I hope we can go back next year!
